The scheme asks all volunteers to commit initially for a period of 6 months, meeting with a service user on a weekly or fortnightly basis for a few hours at a time.

The match may go on for longer if the volunteer is able to continue to commit and if the individual accessing the service still requires the support. Each match is regularly reviewed and monitored by scheme staff to ensure it runs smoothly.

Volunteers are provided with 6 weekly support and supervision from a member of staff and reviews occur with the service user on a 3 monthly (or where appropriate 6 weekly) basis.

We have an open door policy for all involved to come forward for support from scheme staff whenever they require it.
